Life is Good

Life was good until I got caught in a traffic jam.
It was one of those days that I followed God’s prompting to stop and eat dinner.
I count it to my advantage that I actually listened to the Holy Spirit’s leading. Little did I know what I was about to face on highway 40, going towards Flagstaff. I guess that I could be happy that I wasn’t a part of the mess! After all, God did graciously let me pull off the freeway into a rest stop area. Let me tell you that the word “rest” wasn’t in the parking lot vocabulary. At least it wasn’t quiet, that night. Cars were coming and going. People were talking, so I finally decided to join the party to find out what the hold up was about. Apparently, two Semi trucks collided to form a barrier to my destination. Because of one truck carrying apples we had to wait for three hours for them to clean up the applesauce. The good part about this time wasted trip was, the awesome sun-set pictures that got on the internet. I remember passing the mangled trucks and saying a prayer for the truckers and their families. Now, that I look back on the situation, I know that life is good with God in charge!

I'm delighted that you're posting to a blog. You have much to share and this will open the doorway for others to find your writing.
To paraphrase from the NLT version of Colossians 1:9 ff,
“We ask God to give us complete knowledge of His will
and to give us spiritual wisdom
and understanding.
Then the way we live with always honor and please the Lord,
and our lives will produce every kind of good fruit.
All the while we will grow
as we learn to know God better and better.
We also pray that we will be strengthened with all His glorious power
so we will have all the endurance and patience we need.
May we be filled with joy,
Always thanking the Father.”

Hi Gail, nice reading your blog. I'm in Houston Texas and traffic sometimes can get to even the best of us. But as you said, I have learnt to make use of negative circumstances and use them for productive time. I normally read my devotionals or prepare notes.

God bless!
